Comf Origins
COMF is really about being comfortable in your own skin. It is about being true to who you are, no matter where you come from, what you have been through or what anybody thinks you are supposed to be.
Growing up in Queens, I did not have access to a lot of resources. For a long time, all I knew was what I saw when I stepped outside my front door. Gangs. Drugs. Basketball. People doing whatever they had to do to survive.
Me and my brother did not have much. We shared clothes. There were times we even stole food from the store. But even with everything going on around us, we always felt like we were different. We stayed out the way, dreamed big and always believed there was more out there for us than what we could see in front of us.
My circumstances never stopped me from dreaming. I did not have the resources, the connections or some clear blueprint showing me what to do next. I just knew I wanted more for myself, my family and the people around me.
So instead of following the paths we saw every day, me and my brother started creating our own. That is how COMF was born.
To me, COMF was never just about clothes or being physically comfortable. It is about being comfortable with who you are. Knowing yourself. Trusting yourself. Standing on who you are, even when other people do not understand it yet.
The truth is, COMF means something different to everybody. Your COMF could be financial freedom. It could be taking care of your family. It could be building something of your own, making art, traveling the world or simply waking up every day and feeling proud of the person you are becoming.
Whatever COMF is to you, you have to fall in love with the process of getting there. Every step of the journey is necessary. The wins, the losses, the mistakes, the sacrifices, the moments where you feel like everything is working and the moments where you question if any of it is worth it.
It is never easy, but it is worth it.
That is what COMF represents. Not waiting until you finally make it to appreciate your life. Not thinking everything has to be perfect before you can be proud of yourself. It is about understanding that every part of the journey is building you into the person you are supposed to become.
Sometimes you are going to have to sacrifice. Sometimes you are going to have to leave people, habits and situations behind. Sometimes you are going to have to believe in a vision that nobody else can see yet.
But when you are comfortable in your own skin, you do not need permission to be who you are. You trust yourself. You trust the process. You create your own path. And you never let where you started decide how far you can go.
COMF started in Queens, but this story is for anybody who has ever looked at their circumstances and knew deep down that something greater was possible.
Be comfortable in your skin. Stay true to who you are. Fall in love with the process. Every step is necessary.
DREAM BIG.
